War can cause unpredictable closures, damage, alerts and restrictions. Neither coordinates nor a listed activity establish that a place is open or safe. Do not plan an outing solely from this page.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Religious building
Saint Sophia Cathedral
Saint Sophia’s medieval mosaics and frescoes document Kyivan Rus. The complex, listed by UNESCO alongside the Lavra, also includes courtyards and a bell tower. Confirm access to interior spaces.

Religious building
Kyiv Pechersk Lavra
Pechersk Lavra brings together churches, bell towers and courtyards above the Dnipro. Its upper and lower sections have different access rules; the caves should not be assumed open to visitors.

Fortified heritage
Golden Gate of Kyiv
The visible pavilion protects the remains of Kyiv’s medieval gate. Its present silhouette is a reconstruction explaining the former fortifications, rather than an intact medieval building.

Religious building
Saint Andrew’s Church
Above Andriivskyi Descent, the Baroque church stands out through its domes and hillside setting. The terrace and interior are separate spaces whose opening must be checked.
