General presentation
Whidbey Island
Falaise, strong and small sea towns north of Seattle.
Deception Pass, Ebey's Landing and Fort Casey give the most telling landmarks on Whidbey Island. Together, they form a destination where island landscapes, coastline, natural spaces and heritage meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Nature and panorama
Deception Pass
Deception Pass tighten the water between Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island under two spectacular bridges. Rapid currents, wooded cliffs and pebbly beaches make up a very mobile landscape, where views change with the tide and light of the Puget Sound.

Ebey's Landing
Ebey's Landing combines grassy cliffs, open fields and views of Admiralty Inlet in a rare rural landscape on the Puget Sound. The bluff trail runs along the seafront above the beaches, with the Olympic Mountains in the background when the sky is clear.

Culture and heritage
Fort Casey
Fort Casey conserves the batteries, tunnels and cannons of an old coastal defence facing Admiralty Inlet. Between the concrete walls, Admiralty Head lighthouse and the lawns swept by the wind, the visit mixes military history with open views of ferries, Port Townsend and the mountains.

Place indismissible
Coupeville
Coupeville line old houses, shops and restaurants along Penn Cove, with a dock that moves towards mussel parks and hills of Whidbey Island. The village maintains a very legible scale, perfect for strolling between seafront, historic facades and bay products.
