General presentation
Yorkshire Dales
Limestone valleys, stone walls, waterfalls, villages and open trails for a very landscaped rural stay.
To understand what Yorkshire Dales is, look at Malham Cove, Aysgarth Falls and Ribblehead Viaduct. These places give you the opportunity to see a territory marked by the countryside, natural spaces and riverscapes and allow you to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: muddy trails after rain and very popular villages on weekends. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Calcareous falsity
Malham Cove
Malham Cove surprises by the power of its wall and the fluidity of the surrounding terrain. The site reads better by going down and up, when the rock strata and nearby volumes reveal their geometry.

Cascades
Aysgarth Falls
In Aysgarth Falls, it descends in large steps of stone rather than in a single fall, which gives the site a very special rhythm. The arranged paths allow to follow the water closely, between rumbling, thin sprays and dark slabs polished by the current.

Viaduct
Ribblehead Viaduct
The Ribblehead Viaduct crosses the moor with a clear line of arches, set in front of the open hills of the Yorkshire Dales. By walking around the structure, the contrast between railway accuracy, the wind of the plateau and the vast pastures is better measured.

Village
Grassington
Grassington has the density of a well inhabited valley village: narrow streets, neat facades and permanent visual market. The route is the most pleasant when you combine central squares and more discreet passages.
