For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Old town of Kaunas
The old town of Kaunas occupies the point between the Nemunas and the Neris, around the Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville and the pedestrian streets. Gothic bricks, merchant courts, churches and terraces make up a compact centre, easy to connect to the castle and Laisvės Avenue.

The castle of Kaunas marks the confluence by its round tower, its restored courtlines and its grassy ditches. The place gives a very simple entrance into the medieval history of the city, with the two rivers, the park and the old town immediately around.

Neuvième Fort
The Neuvième Fort Tsarist fortification, prison, Nazi execution site and monumental memorial on the same site. Underground rooms, courtyards and exterior sculpture require a serious visit, centered on the Shoah, the occupations and repressions suffered in Lithuania.

Musée Čiurlionis
The Musée Čiurlionis shows the symbolistic world of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, where painting and music respond. Kaunas Modernist, it also makes it possible to approach Lithuanian national collections in a quieter environment than the major stages of the old city.
