Water towns of Shanghai

Channels, stone bridges and merchant houses remain in several towns on the outskirts of the metropolis.

Zhujiajiao, Qibao and Fengjing give the most telling landmarks of Shanghai Water Bourgs. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage, riverscapes and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Fengjing It is spread around canals, covered galleries and low houses near the border of Zhejiang. The relative distance keeps it a less compressed atmosphere than Zhujiajiao. The beginning of the day usually offers more calm.
