Adirondacks and Lake Placid

Massif of lakes, forests, peaks, panoramic roads and Olympic village of northern New York State.

The discovery of Adirondacks and Lake Placid is centred around Lake Placid, High Peaks and Mirror Lake. The stay thus alternates between mountain reliefs, shores and lakes, forests and natural spaces, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

すべて見る

For a stay of 4 to 8 days, you must plan a fairly long day. Also to be anticipated: long distances and mountain weather. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Lake

Mirror Lake

4.5 / 5· Hidengo1-2 hours

Mirror Lake Directly accompanies the village of Lake Placid with clear reflections and a very accessible use. Walking around the edge allows you to enter the Adirondacks without effort, while preparing for a transition to more committed areas of the region.

Summit

Whiteface Mountain

4.7 / 5· Hidengo2 時間～半日

Whiteface Mountain offers one of the most direct views of the High Peaks, lakes and large forests of the Adirondacks. The access road and the last passages to the top make quickly switch from the tight forest to an open landscape, sometimes swept by the wind. By clear sky, the gaze takes far enough to grasp the magnitude of the massif.

Throat

Ausable Chasm

4.5 / 5· Hidengo2-3 hours

Ausable Chasm Cuts the rock with bridges, bridges and a deep river, providing a rougher atmosphere than the nearby lakes. The route remains accessible and gives a very close, almost tactile canyon vision.

Hiking

High Peaks Wilderness

High Peaks Wilderness concentrates the most demanding face of Adirondacks The reward comes from the views of lakes and ridges, but this area requires real shoes, a monitored weather and a route chosen according to its level.
