Armagh and Lough Neagh
Ecclesiastical city, ancient royal site and large inland lake in the heart of Northern Ireland.
The discovery of Armagh and Lough Neagh revolves around Armagh, Navan Fort and Oxford Island and Lough Neagh. The stay thus alternates between the heritage, the shores and the lakes and the countryside, which gives a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. To anticipate also: less iconic sites and especially heritage interest. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Heritage City
Armagh
Armagh concentrates a religious and scholarly history in a compact centre, punctuated by cathedrals, sloping streets and Georgian buildings. The city discovers itself well on foot, taking the time to connect its high points, gardens and cultural institutions rather than reducing it to a single visit.
Old site
Navan Fort
Navan Fort does not impress with massive ruins, but by the strength of the relief and by what he suggests from the ancient ritual and royal world of the Ulster. The site requires a bit of imagination, rewarded by the views of the countryside and by the echo of the stories related to Emain Macha.
Nature reserve
Oxford Island et Lough Neagh
Oxford Island advances in Lough Neagh as a wooded peninsula bordered by reeds and open banks. Its trails lead to observatories, the Discovery Centre and wide views of the lake, while giving real opportunities to observe waterfowl. This reserve provides a clear and peaceful access to Lough Neagh, much more than just a stop at the waterfront.
