To understand what New River Gorge is, you need to look at New River Gorge Bridge, Endless Wall Trail and Thurmond. These places give us a view of a territory marked by mountain reliefs, riverscapes, forests and natural spaces and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Thurmond preserves an atmosphere of ancient mining village on the New River, now very small in amplitude but rich in industrial traces. The buildings and the residual railway line give a sensation of suspended time. The visit is more sensitive to details than the figures.
