Highland Pamiris, fortress and road of Karakoram make up a spectacular and highly controlled border journey.
The discovery of Tashkurgan and Karakoram is centred around Fortress of Tashkurgan, Lake Karakul and Muztagh Ata. The stay thus alternates between mountain reliefs, heritage, countryside and shores and lakes, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

Tashkurgan Fortress
The stone fortress dominates a wide valley covered by Tajik herders. The ramparts give a clear reading of the historic crossroads despite recent developments. A slow visit allows to go beyond the only points of view best known.

Karakul reflects the peaks of the Muztagh Ata and Kongur on the roadside of Karakoram. Altitude, wind and roadside controls require a significant margin in the program. Light, wind and season are strongly transforming the landscape.
