概述
Badlands National Park
Eroded remparts, bison meadows and changing light above the Great Plains.
Badlands Loop Road, Notch Trail and Yellow Mounds Overlook are the most telling landmarks of Badlands National Park. Together, they form a destination where natural spaces and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Place indismissible
Badlands Loop Road
Badlands Loop Road It runs through the most accessible formations of Badlands National Park, between friable ridges, grey ravines, pink stripes and bison meadows. Close sights allow for more stops without long walking, especially sooner or later when the reliefs take on more colour.
Nature and panorama
Notch Trail
Notch Trail offers a short but notable hike in the Badlands, with ravine passages, wood ladder and final view on the White River Valley. The trail is suitable for walkers at ease with a little exposure; after the rain, clays can become slippery.
Place indismissible
Yellow Mounds Overlook
Yellow Mounds Overlook shows the Badlands under a softer palette, with yellow, pink and grey hills from old soil altered. The stop is particularly telling when the razing light reveals the layers; it reminds that the park is not limited to white and dry ravine needles.
Nature and landscape
Roberts Prairie Dog Town
Roberts Prairie Dog Town is a colony of black-tailed prairie dogs in its natural prairie setting. Animals appear, whistle, disappear and then come out near the burrows; the scene pleases families, but it also shows the living role of these colonies in the Plains ecosystem.
