Kunlun Col, Golmud and Nachitai Source give the most telling landmarks of Golmud and Kunlun Mountains. Together, they form a destination where urban life, desert areas and mountain reliefs meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

The pass crosses the chain more than 4,700 meters on the Tibet road. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, warm clothes and time limits remain useful, even in summer.

The city is a railway and logistics node south of the Qaedam basin. An early-day visit allows you to better observe local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.

A clear source is a traditional stop on the Kunlun road. Season, wind and water levels greatly alter the experience; fragile banks and possible local restrictions must also be respected.
