Matsue and Izumo
Feudal castle, large Shinto shrine and garden-museum connect lakes, countryside and coast of the Japanese Sea.
To understand what Matsue and Izumo are, you must look at the side of Castle of Matsue, Adachi Museum of Art and Izumo Grand Sanctuary. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, heritage, shores and lakes and the countryside and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

World Heritage
Iwami Ginzan
Iwami Ginzan retains an ancient silver mining area in the Shimane Mountains, formerly connected to the ports of the Japanese Sea. Galleries, paved roads, merchant houses and mining villages tell of a long-prosperous activity, today surrounded by forests that soften the industrial traces.
