To understand what Nantes is, you must look at the Machines of the Island, Chateau and Urban Art. These places give us a view of a territory marked by the big city, urban life, heritage and riverscapes and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: Atlantic weather and mainly urban experience. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

The Island Machines install their mechanical creatures in the former shipyards of Nantes, between industrial naves, docks and imagination at the Jules Verne. The Grand Elephant, the visible workshops and the Carrousel des Mondes Marins give the site a technical and theatrical dimension. Children find movement there; adults, the pleasure of apparent mechanisms.

The Passage Pommeraye is a composition of arches, stairways and shops that plays with the depths. The best way to live it remains a careful walk, going up and down to grasp the lines of perspective. The place is transformed as the progression progresses.

Ile de Nantes
