Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and Reynisfjara give the most telling landmarks of the Southern Coast of Iceland. Seljalandsfoss falls from an old sea cliff into a curtain of fine water. A trail passes behind the waterfall when conditions permit, with abundant sprays and slippery soil.

Katla sleeps under the cap of Mýrdalsjökull, above the black plains and the glacial tongues of the South Icelandic coast. The volcano is discovered mainly by its associated landscapes: framed ice caves, moraines, grey torrents and roads subject to weather and volcanic warnings.

Skógafoss forms a powerful water wall at the end of a green valley. The staircase leads above the fall and from a path marked by other waterfalls, while the foot often offers rainbows and sprays.
