Qamani'tuaq · Baker Lake
Nunavut's only inner community, located between large lake, tundra and a major Inuit art centre.
Baker Lake, St.Aidan Church and Thelon River give the most telling landmarks of Qamani'tuaq · Baker Lake. Together, they form a destination where the shores and lakes, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Nature and scenery
Baker Lake
Qamani'tuaq is the only Nunavut community located far from the sea coast, on the edge of a huge lake connected by the Thelon River. Its art workshops and tundra horizons give a unique identity to this interior stage.

教堂
Church of St. Aidan
The small church of St. Aidan stands simply among the houses of Qamani'tuaq and the bare expanse of the tundra. It is a familiar landmark on the lakeside and discreetly bears witness to the recent history of the community.

河流
Thelon River
Thelon crossed a tundra territory almost without roads for hundreds of kilometres before expanding to Baker Lake. An expedition over its waters offered wildlife, ancient sites and loneliness, but required complete autonomy and experienced support.
