Laghouat
Laghouat marks the transition between the reliefs of the Saharan Atlas and desert spaces. Urban L-oasis, Ksar El Hirane and Aflou make up a contrasting route, from the foothills to the heights of Jebel Amour. The whole goes beyond the only city of Laghouat and requires planning the distances between its various stages.
To understand what Laghouat is, you have to look at Laghouat, an oasis of piemont, Ksar El Hirane and Aflou and the Jebel Love. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the countryside, mountain reliefs and desert areas and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: Saharan excursions: guide and authorizations to check and grade and varying road conditions depending on the area and season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

Laghouat is an Osian city on the northern edge of the Sahara, linked to the reliefs of Jebel Amour. Its cross-road history and weaving traditions allow us to discuss the relations between city, trade and arid environments, before trips to the region.

Ksar El Hirane
Ksar El Hirane is a town in the Laghouat region, located east of the main city. The entrance identifies here the municipality and its inhabited centre; the name "ksar" is not enough to attest to a restored monument or a visitable enclosure.

Aflou et le Djebel Amour
Aflou is a city of the Djebel Amour, in the Saharan Atlas. It introduces a mountain environment different from Laghouat's oasis; this regional step requires taking into account distance, climatic conditions and approaches.
