概述
Solothurn and the Aare Valley
Small baroque town on the Aar, with nearby Jura, gorges and villages easy to combine.
The discovery of Solothurn and Aar Valley is structured around Old Town of Solothurn, Cathedral of St.Ours and Weissenstein. The stay thus alternates between urban life, riverscapes, heritage and natural spaces, which gives a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

Town or village
Old town of Solothurn
The old town of Solothurn is located at the height of steps: narrow passages, baroque porches, tight facades and noise of commercial facades make up a sensation of very tangible scale. Each transition from place to dead end reveals another layer of life. By lingering on a few axes, urban mechanics are understood more effectively than in the accumulation of views.
Heritage
Cathedral of Saint-Ours
The Saint-Ours Cathedral imposes a very orderly presence, with its staircase, clear facade and baroque lines in the heart of Solothurn. Inside, the light slides over the columns and altars, giving a quieter visit than the great outdoor staging leaves him waiting.
Place
Weissenstein
The Weissenstein offers a very clear transition between landscape climb and panorama: we leave the city for a more open reading of the lake and the reliefs. Trails change the sensation depending on the slope and light, especially when alternate breaks and progression. It's a way of understanding Solothurn by its topographic depth.
