General presentation
Busan
Large port city of sloping neighborhoods, markets, coastal temples, beaches and cliffs facing the Strait of Korea.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Jagalchi Market and Gamcheon Cultural Village give the most telling landmarks of Busan. Together, they form a destination where the big city, urban life, the coastline and heritage meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting

World Heritage
Tumuli de Gaya
Gaya's tumuli form grassy terre cemeteries linked to the former chiefdoms of the southern Korean peninsula. Their disposition, their funeral objects and their forms of burial reveal a society where autonomous communities shared common practices, without removing their political and territorial differences.

Temple
Temple Haedong Yonggungsa
Haedong Yonggungsa clings to the rocks facing the sea, a rare position among the great Korean temples. Stairs, statues and pavilions make up a very popular visit, but the noise of the waves and coastal views keep a real presence.

Nature and panorama
Marché de Jagalchi
Jagalchi remains one of the major markets for seafood products of the Busan, between halls, outdoor stalls and fishing docks. Interest is as much due to gestures and arrivals as to meals prepared on site, in a neighborhood directly linked to the port.

Village
Village culturel de Gamcheon
Gamcheon rises on a hill in a network of colourful houses, staircases and small streets. Artistic projects have transformed his image, but the slopes and views remind the popular history of a district built in stages after the war.
