General presentation
Grand Canyon
Monumental Colorado waist, vertiginous viewpoints and paths linking several geological floors.
The discovery of Grand Canyon is based on Mather Point, Desert View Watchtower and South Kaibab Trail. The stay thus alternates between mountain reliefs, desert areas, river landscapes and natural spaces, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 7 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Nature and landscape
Mather Point
Mather Point often delivers the first visual shock of the Grand Canyon from the south shore: a sudden opening to rocky temples, coloured layers and the depth of the void. Very frequented, however, the gazebo retains its strength at sunrise, when the walls slowly exit from the shadow.

Place indismissible
Desert View Watchtower
Desert View Watchtower It stands at the eastern end of the south shore, inspired by the ancestral towers of the Colorado Plateau. From its surroundings, the look follows Colorado in a more open portion of the canyon, while the interior reveals paintings and motifs related to the native cultures of the area.

Nature and panorama
South Kaibab Trail
South Kaibab Trail It goes straight down on an exposed ridge, without water or lasting shadow, but with almost constant views of the canyon. Even a short walk to Ooh Aah Point or Cedar Ridge gives the sensation of leaving the edge to enter the relief.

Nature and panorama
Bright Angel Trail
Bright Angel Trail follows an old access road to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with laces, rock tunnels and shady stops according to the sections. More progressive than South Kaibab, it remains demanding at the rise; it is suitable for walkers who want to dose their effort without losing contact with the vast canyon.
