概述
North York Moors
Heather Landes, abbeys in ruins, villages, wooded valleys and access to the coast of Whitby.
The discovery of North York Moors revolves around Rievaulx Abbey, Goathland and Hole of Horcum. The stay thus alternates between natural areas, countryside, heritage and forests, which gives a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.
檢視全部
For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: landscape exposed to the wind and distances longer than they seem. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Abbey in ruins
Rievaulx Abbey
Rievaulx Abbey reveals its strength in volumes in ruins, lateral light and depth of matter. The visit asks to observe every arc and every silence, which highlights the construction as an active memory of the site.
Village and station
Goathland
Goathland reads as a village of transition between countryside and railway memory: clean streets, hinged buildings and station atmosphere. The beauty lies in the details of the facades and the way in which the rural calm remains very present.
Natural depression
Hole of Horcum
The Hole of Horcum forms a vast natural bowl that suddenly opens from the edge of the plateau. The trail reveals grassy slopes, heather folds and long views of the North York Moors; it is better to come there in clear weather, when the reliefs really cut out.
Landes
North York Moors
North York Moors has a landscape of moors, forests and ridges where light modifies the hues. The course is appreciated by taking long distances between points of view to feel the movement of the terrain.
